1. For the official selection of Mexican and foreign films documentary production 2009-2011, 35mm, 16mm and video, concerning environmental topics will be considered.

 

2. All films should not have been commercially exhibited in Mexico before.

 

3. The deadline to receive material selected for competition is January 7th, 2011.

 

4. It is nessesary that you fill in the entry form here. Otherwise, your film won´t be able to compete.

 

5. All material must be presented in its original version, with subtitles in Spanish or English in DVD.

 

6. If you live in México, the material should be sent to:

The material will not be returned, however it remains a commitment of confidentiality by the Cinema Planeta organization.

 

7. The selected films will be notified by Cinema Planeta´s Programming Department. From the date of such notification, the producers or representatives will have until january the 28 th 2011 to send the following material:

 

 

• Spotting List in English or Spanish

·         Complete technical data (format, aspect ratio, sound system, running time, language/printed subtitles)

 

• Director´s biography and film synopsis
• Film stills and pictures of the director (high quality)
• Promotional material in Betacam SP (NTSC) or DVD
• Press-kit
• Posters (2 copies)

 

 

8. The exhibitions will be on 35mm, 16mm, DVCam (NTSC), DigiBeta (NTSC), HD, Quicktime H.264. Any other format will need a special authorization.

 

9. The Festival could use some stills and shots from the movies to promote its sections.

 

10. The selected films will compete for the following awards:

 

*JURY PRIZE FOR BEST FILM (4000 USD)

*JURY PRIZE FOR BEST LATINAMERICAN DOCUMENTARY

*JURY PRIZE FOR BEST ORIGINAL TREATMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL TOPIC

*AUDIENCE PRIZE

 

11. The decision of the Jury board is indisputable.

 

12. With the goal of raising awareness about environmental issues to a large audience, Cinema Planeta is part of a cultural circuit that includes festivals, cultural organizations, institutions, and ONGs throughout the Mexican Republic, thanks to this some outstanding films will be selected for special screenings in other states of the republic during 2011. The organization will inform directors and/or producers and distributors about these special projections ahead of time.
